In large rural areas of Latin America, small beekeeping producers face persistent barriers to demonstrate the origin, quality and sustainability of their products due to the difficulty of verifying good practices, sanitary management and traceability, aggravated by traditional certification systems that are expensive, slow and centralized, limiting their access to formal markets and increasing their vulnerability to fraud and information asymmetries. To meet this challenge, we present Colmena DAO, a rural digital economy platform that transforms trust into a verifiable asset through standardized minimum evidence, decentralized community governance and incentive mechanisms. The proposal integrates: (i) capture of evidence in the field through photos, checklists, metadata and approximate georeferencing; (ii) guarantee of integrity and immutability through cryptographic anchoring and distributed technologies that ensure transparent traceability; and (iii) peer validation based on rules of participation and reputation, reducing dependence on intermediaries. This approach not only allows beekeepers to document and demonstrate their sustainable practices, but also facilitates the creation of pollination vouchers and direct access to markets that value traceability and socio-environmental impact, positioning rural communities as protagonists of their own digital economic inclusion through an autonomous and collaborative governance model.
